This study is concerned with manipulation of Iranian Crisis in New York Times. It aims to uncover how New York Times manipulates the news according to their ideology to find out the power of language in changing peoples’ views about different events around the world. Five news reports about Iranian Crisis in New York Times are analyzed. Van Dijk’s(1995) Ideological Discourse Analysis model is adopted to reveal the discursive strategies used by New York Time to manipulate the chosen data. At the macro level Van Dijk’s(1998) Ideological Square is adopted to reveal the positive –self presentation and negative other presentation by New York Time to manipulates the news. The study comes out that New York Times manipulates the news about Iranian Crisis in both levels. At the micro level, New York Times uses discursive strategies of Van Dijk’s (1995) ideological discourse analysis to manipulate Iranian Crisis’ News. At the macro level, New York Times uses positive self-presentation and negative- other presentation of Van Dijk’s (1998) ideological Square.
