Although it is generally accepted that eco-literature covers different literary genres like fiction and poetry, its main concern is the environment, or more importantly the relation between man and the environment. The current study explores the field of eco-literature highlighting the main points in the rise of this literature, and emphasizing the point of environmental problem and human awareness. The researcher is motivated to study this field due to the environmental problems we have in our areas and the importance of solving such problems by using this kind of literature. However, this is not enough as we need to encourage people to look at the environment in a different way. People have to realize that that man has the right to live peacefully. Likewise, other creatures have the same right. The human and the non-human have the chance to live on this earth. It is noticed that after the emergence of eco-literature, a new literature is going to be available, and that literature in its classical sense does not really meet the environmental problems we have. In fact, we need literature that can tackle industrial projects in rural areas, the relation between some literary texts and the environment, and the relation between man and the environment. In his regard, this literature will surely open new horizons for writers and readers alike because it will encourage the two to look at themselves and at their relation with the environment in a different way.
